Using the limitless beauty of natural light to capture “life as it happens,” Mary Kelting has been wielding a camera since she was old enough to push the shutter button. In high school, she was the yearbook’s most prolific camerawoman; and in college, a camera case swung from her shoulders everywhere she went. Even on her wedding day, Mary Kelting wished she could be both bride AND photographer!
As with most true passions, Kelting is self-taught. Classes, conferences, books, forums, and websites form the foundation for her 20 years of practice in the field. Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Kelting holds a BA from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from Pepperdine University. She bought her first professional camera in 1997 when it became clear that her natural talent, well-honed skills, and life-long experience could parlay passion into profession.
